Bright Ideas Deadline & Early Bird Winner

Sanford, N.C.- LaTonya McLean is the recipient of this year’s Early Bird Award. The honor is in connection with Central Electric’s Bright Ideas program. Each year CEMC selects a teacher who applies early for the scholarship. McLean is a part of the Pre-K curriculum at Warren Williams in Sanford, NC. She submitted her Busy Bee’s project well ahead of the competition. In doing so she earned a $500 gift card to use towards whatever she desired
Registration for the Bright Ideas Grant is still underway. September 21,2012 is this year's cut-off. Annually teachers can apply for grants of up to $2000, which is part of more than $600,000 in Bright Ideas funding that will be awarded to teachers statewide during the upcoming school year. Classroom educators at qualifying schools in Chatham, Harnett, Lee, and Moore counties can apply for grants individually or as a team.
