A momentary service interruption was experienced by 7,400 Central Electric members in the southern portion of the system at 7:45 a.m. on May 19, specifically in the Harnett County areas of Johnsonville and Spout Springs. The outage lasted approximately five minutes and power was quickly restored to all members by 7:50 a.m.
The outage occurred due to a brief interruption of service from Central Electric’s power supplier. A fault occurred on the power supplier’s transmission line feeding the cooperative’s Manchester delivery point. The Manchester delivery point feeds two of the cooperative’s primary substations, Johnsonville and Spout Springs.
