Bright Ideas Deadline Almost Here

Sanford, N.C.,- September 8, 2014- Time is running out for teachers to apply for grants of up to $2000 from Central Electric Membership Corporation’s Bright Ideas education grant program. Educators with creative ideas for hands-on classroom projects must submit their application by September 19th the final deadline. This year marks North Carolina’s electric cooperatives’ 20th year of supporting teachers and students with Bright Ideas grants. Central EMC and electric cooperatives statewide have allocated a total of nearly $600,000 to assist educators in 2014. Last year, Central Electric awarded right at $10,000 to teachers at eight different schools.
The Bright Ideas grant applications require an outline of the proposed project, a detailed budget and a description of the benefit to students. Applicants are encouraged to highlight the innovative, creative elements of the project and to proofread carefully.
