Time Running Out For Grant Applications

Sanford, N.C., September 17, 2013 –Time is running out to apply for the Bright Ideas education grant program. Are you a candidate? The scholarship provides funds for teachers in Chatham, Harnett, Lee, Moore and Randolph counties who initiate innovative classroom-based projects. Certified K-12 teachers are eligible to apply for Bright Ideas grants of up to $2,000. Educators can learn about the Bright Ideas program and apply online at www.cemcpower.com.
The final deadline to apply is September 20th, 2013.

North Carolina’s electric cooperatives are committed to supporting local communities. Last year, Central Electric awarded almost $9.000 in Bright Ideas funding directly to local teachers. Since 1994, educators statewide have received more than $8.5 million in Bright Ideas grant funding, and well over 1.5 million N.C. students have participated in approximately 8,300 Bright Ideas projects.
