Central Electric offers a variety of rates to help meet customers' different needs. Contact Central Electric for additional information about which rate will work best to meet your needs.

CFL Rebate Program

Using one compact fluorescent light (CFL) in place of an incandescent bulb can save you $4.80 annually- or $36 in energy costs over the life of the CFL. And, if you send Central Electric the receipts when you buy a CFL, you will receive a credit on your power bill of 50 cents for each installed CFL, up to $15 per calendar year. To earn your credit, follow these guidelines:

1.) Send in your original receipt for the purchase. If your receipt does not clearly show the CFL purchase from the packaging please also send in proof of purchase from the product.

2.) Write the full name of the CEMC member, the account number, complete mailing address and daytime phone number on the receipt.

3.) Receipts must be dated within three months of the date of submission.

Water Heater Maintenance

With this maintenance program, Central Electric will have a licensed plumber repair your electric water heater for $1.25 a month- regardless of where you bought it or how old it is. The program covers heating elements, pop-off valve and thermostats on the water heater. It does not cover replacement of the entire unit. The service is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All you need to do is call Central Electric to report your trouble. Members must own their own home.

Water Heater Financing

Central Electric provides financing for water heaters in lowboy and standard sizes ranging from 40-to 120-gallon sizes. The Cooperative will finance the unit at a low 9.9 percent interest rate for 1-2 years as a line item on your bill. In addition to financing, we also offer the convenience of installation by a licensed plumber. This service is available to those whose credit has been approved.

Fridge & Freezer Farewell Program

Central Electric is offereing a %50 credit on your electric bill, along with the free removal of any second refrigerators and/or freezers, even if they're in basements, garages and outbuildings. These units are typically older and less efficient than newer models. Replacing them with an Energy Star appliance saves approximately $200 per year in energy costs. The old units will be recycled.
