Central Electric Holds Annual Meeting
October 10th, 2011
SANFORD, N.C. — “We’re making it three years in a row!” Central Electric Membership Corporation CEO Morris McClelion told members attending this year’s Annual Meeting, explaining the Cooperative has made a general retirement of capital credits for the past two years.
The two previous general retirements amounted to more than two million dollars, and a third general retirement will be made in November, which will cover the years 1987 and 1988.
“This is the course your Board of Directors has charted, a course of providing all the value we can for our members,” Mr. McClelion added.
More than 1,400 people, including 600+ registered members, were on hand at the Dennis Wicker Civic Center to hear reports on the progress and plans of Central Electric during the past year.
Members also re-elected four fellow members to the Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
• Rebecca G. Cogan, District 1, Lee County;
• Carl Outz, District 2, Chatham/Randolph counties;
• Henry Randolph, District 3, Harnett County, and
• R.G. Wadsworth, District 4, Moore County.
