Central Electric crews worked through the night and into the late morning to restore service to over 6,700 members who lost power as a result of a severe thunderstorm passing through our area Sunday evening. A majority of the outages were concentrated in the southern portion of the service territory, affecting primarily Harnett, Lee and Moore counties. The storm brought heavy winds that caused downed trees and limbs, resulting in several broken poles that had to be replaced. As of 8 a.m. on Monday morning, crews were still working to restore service to approximately 18 members without power due to broken poles.
