Central Electric is accepting applications for Bright Ideas education grants to help fund creative, classroom-based learning projects. The cooperative expects to award $15,000 in grants this year to K-12 educators in Chatham, Harnett, Lee, and Moore counties, which is part of more than $600,000 in Bright Ideas funding that will be awarded statewide during the upcoming school year.
Educators in all subjects can apply individually or as a team for grants up to $2,000. The final deadline to apply is Sept. 23. However, teachers submitting their completed application by the early-bird deadline of Aug. 15 will be entered to win one of five $100 gift cards. The application, grant-writing tips and more information about the Bright Ideas education grant program can be found at NCBrightIdeas.com.
