December 16th, 2013

Sanford, N.C., December 16, 2013 – This holiday season will be a little brighter for several area organizations thanks to Central Electric Member Care Trust, Inc. and the members of Central Electric. Together these groups made it possible for charities like Friend to Friend, Boys & Girls Club of Sanford/ Lee Co. and Deep River Park Association to carry on their work in their nearby communities. Operation Round Up® was able to award almost $19,000 in support, which represents a huge declaration of the dedication Central EMC members have to helping their neighbors.
The Central Electric Member Care Trust, Inc. is a division of Central Electric’s Operation Round Up®. This community development program is funded by the voluntary contribution of Central Electric members to the Central Electric Member Care Trust, Inc. Charitable donations are made by the Trust Board to worthy projects in the Central Electric service territory (Chatham, Harnett, Lee, and Moore Counties). Organizations, groups and charities in these counties are eligible to apply as long as they meet the specific funding guidelines governing the Central Electric Member Care Trust Board.
Round Up targets non-profit organizations, groups and charities that are currently serving members of Central Electric. The guidelines used for awarding Operation Round Up® funds address food, shelter, clothing, education, health care and vital community service needs. You’ll find more on this wonderful program on our website www.cemcpower.com.
