Sanford, N.C., July 1, 2013 – After months of communications, it’s time for Operation Round Up® to go into effect. The purpose of the program is to collect funds to provide assistance for special needs in the communities Central EMC serves, particularly in situations where help is not available from other sources.
All of the money will be used for charities or special needs according to established guidelines. The Board of Directors will appoint members to serve on Central’s Member Care Trust Board which will administer the program and funds. You will be informed of the various ways the money is allocated. A participant’s donation may be as little as a penny or as much as 99 cents each month. The average donation will be about six dollars a year. Donations are tax deductible.
Participation in the program is voluntary and non-compulsory. If you want to be included in Operation Round Up® do nothing; you will automatically be enrolled in the program. If you do not wish to participate you must complete the OPT OUT form on our website under the Operation Round Up® tab. You can also call us at (919) 774-4900 or (800) 446-7752.
