Sanford, N.C., February 15, 2013 – Members helping members is part of the Cooperative tradition. In hopes of furthering our efforts, Central Electric Membership Corporation (CEMC) started the Members Care program years ago to give members the opportunity to help others during crisis situations. The monies collected from the program are used to pay heating bills regardless of the type of fuel used. While Central EMC organizes the program, the Departments of Social Services in Chatham, Harnett, Lee and Moore Counties distribute the funds as needed.
Central Electric would like to issue a big thank you to its members as this week CEMC delivered checks to all four of the above mentioned counties!
While Members Care has been a wonderful program, Central Electric is replacing it with Operation Round Up. Operation Round Up will allow Central Electric more opportunities to help those in need around the community.
