Bright Ideas early-bird winners

Five local educators cashed in on the Bright Ideas early bird deadline, each taking home a $100 Visa® gift card. The honors are in connection with Central Electric’s Bright Ideas program, which aims to bring creative and innovative projects into classrooms. Each year, the cooperative awards grants up to $2,000 for educators to use in the classroom.

The 2017 Bright Ideas early bird winners are:

  • Stacey Leigh Mann – Grace Christian School, Sanford
  • Christa Morgan – Silk Hope School, Siler City
  • Allison Pridgen – Tramway Elementary, Sanford
  • Dennis Regan – Southern Lee High School, Sanford
  • Shelia Self – Carthage Elementary, Carthage.

Bright Ideas grant applications for the 2017-2018 school year are still being accepted. The final deadline for all grant applications is Sept. 18. Teachers in qualifying K-12 classrooms in Chatham, Harnett, Lee and Moore counties are encouraged to apply for a grant, individually or as a team. To apply, educators must include a budget and explain the creative elements, implementation, goals and evaluation of the project.
